The ADP is Europe’s premier talent scouter and accelerator for the next generation of EU visual artists, organised annually by the EIB Institute. This unique programme offers emerging European artists under the age of 35 the opportunity to develop their practice in a high-quality professional context, without any material constraints, under the supervision of an internationally renowned artist. This mentors provide an exceptional learning and networking opportunity, while the exhibition of works from the project at the EIB premises adds the credibility of an established setting. From 2013 to 2024, 44 winners have benefited from the ADP and 60 ADP artworks have been acquired to enrich the EIB's collection.
The 2024 ADP exhibition features works by: Gilad Ashery (PT), Alessandro Di Lorenzo (IT), Maria Trabulo (PT) and Maxine Weiss (DE). These young artists, whose works enrich the EIB collection, offer a panorama of the next generation of European artistic creation
- Alessandro Di Lorenzo was selected for the thematic call Disruption: The Imprint of Man, which invites artists to meditate on human behaviour and its consequences. While in residence, Alessandro produced a wide body of work relating to both the ancestral rituals of his hometown of Matera, as well as the residency location of neimënster in Luxembourg, across a series of sculptures and installations.
- Maxine Weiss was selected for the thematic call The Future of Water, which challenged artists from around the EU to reflect upon the myriad ways in which water affects our societies in terms of both challenges and future possibilities. While in residence, she created Metastable Waters, an installation that integrates Weiss’ material-based approach with a variety of natural and manmade media.
- Gilad Ashery was selected for the thematic call Disruption: The Imprint of Man, which invites artists to meditate on human behaviour and its consequences.
