Carla van de Puttelaar - Brushed by Light (until 18.10.2020)
Already from the titles of some of Carla van de Puttelaar’s photo series it becomes clear that she finds inspiration in the works of the old masters: Rembrandt Series, Cranach Series, Sassoferato Series. In his talk, art historian Fred Meijer, specialist on Dutch and Flemish seventeenth-century painting, will discuss similarities and differences between Van de Puttelaar’s approach and that of the painters and draughtsmen of past centuries.
Fred G. Meijer is a well-known art historian and an acclaimed connoisseur in the field of Dutch and Flemish seventeenth-century painting. He is widely recognized as a leading specialist in still-life painting of the period, as well as for his profound knowledge of other areas, such as genre painting, portraiture, and non-Netherlandish still-life painting.
